eshnapour (38)Kontrakadenz94"Kontrakadenz" (1970/71 -- 18'49) This is one of Lachenmann's most impressive compositions. "Kontrakadenz" defies description or comprehension. Lachenmann calls it "a cascade of acoustic situations," in which each sound "signals the actual use of energies in the musicians' actions and renders the mechanical conditions and instances of resistance associated with these actions tangible, hearable, anticipatable." Like "Accanto," the piece uses tape recordings.originalpdf
